meta – imaginaria

An experimental artistic project carried out within the framework of the extended partnership “CHANGES -Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for Sustainable Society”, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU Spoke 9 CREST, which explores new languages for a radically inclusive and poetic cultural fruition of heritage, in close relationship with the Elena and Claudio Cerasi Collection of Palazzo Merulana.

THE PROJECT

Meta-Imaginaria – performative digital installation that weaves a relationship with cultural heritage between enhancement and innovation, memory and future, creating a space where art continues to evolve, to provoke transformation and to surprise: for a lively and accessible culture, open to new audiences.

Performative digital work in which poetic and technological languages are put into play in an interconnected way: words, actions, signs, sounds and suggestions, are inextricable threads of a single discourse.

Meta-Imaginaria is nourished by inspiration and an in-depth study of historical-artistic sources, along with a continuous experimentation with artistic and technological languages best suited to weave relationships between works and a plural world.

Attention to different perceptions is fundamental and is exercised in collaboration with realities such as the National Deaf Authority and the Italian Union of the Blind and Impaied (UICI), involved since the creative phases. Accessibility through Design for All: it is created with, not for.

Meta-Imaginary is an experience to be lived together, designed for sharing, from the creative moment to that of a fruition without separations, in which the different perceptive and expressive realities of each one enrich the experience of everyone.

The artistic project investigates the interaction with new media by weaving a dialogue between art, thought and contemporaneity: technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), used to relate acting performances to paintings, is part of this dramaturgy – a creative tool at the service of a sensitive experience.

The sense of Meta-Imaginary concerns the entire creative process, up to the installation that considers the use as part of the performance. NuvolaProject takes care of every aspect directly and creates an ad hoc AR app to get in touch with the works in a natural, personal and performing way.

The visitor becomes an actor and director of his gaze: each visit is a new performance, for a living museum that grows in the meeting.

Imaginaria proposes a further poetic medium, introduces an artificial intelligence that opens up to dialogue and accompanies the visit, intertwining knowledge and imagination.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS
AND TECHNOLOGY

Our artistic-technological chimera project investigates the interaction with new media, weaving a dialogue of diagonal crossings between art, thought, and contemporaneity.
A work that inscribes itself in the field of Performing Media, using technology ‘intensively,’ but never gratuitously.

Thus we use technological and poetic languages in an interconnected way. Ours is a writing through words, ideas, images, signs, actions, sounds and suggestions, inextricable threads of a single discourse.

Ours is to immerse ourselves in the relationship with the work by finding the way to reach its heart and to ensure that it is the soul of the work then to emerge to reach the public.
Choosing augmented reality is part of writing. We designed the experience of using “Meta-Imaginary” as part of the work, as a work itself.
For us, it is essential that the audience can discover our digital work without losing contact with the painted work that inspired it, in a play of perception that does not overwrite, but multiplies the depth of contact, of experience.
The visitor thus becomes an actor and director of his own gaze: each visit is a new performance, for a living museum that grows in the meeting.I
Meta-Imaginaria introduce anche un ulteriore medium poetico: un’intelligenza artificiale che si apre al dialogo e accompagna la visita, intrecciando conoscenza e immaginazione e offrendo nuove possibilità di relazione con le opere.
